Grand Opening!

[Translate]

Hello everyone,

I have 2 announcements to make… 1.) Hydroponic-Gardens.com has been online now for 1 whole year!

That’s right, it’s been a whole year and this little website has gone through many changes along the way. The original idea was to bring as much experience and information as possible to the site to help everyone get started with their own hydroponic projects. I think that’s being accomplished and I have to say that there is plenty more information and videos on the way.

My second announcement is… The Hydroponic-Gardens.com online store is now open for business!

To celebrate this occasion there will a 10% discount for all of our products for the next 30 days. Coupon Code: GRANDOPENING

Sign-up for the monthly newsletter to grab your copy of Organic Gardening for Beginners and get exclusive discount coupons on a regular basis.

There are over 400 products available and counting. But for some reason, if there is a product that we don’t have that you’d be interested in getting, let me know and I’ll see what I can do about making the product available on the site.

I also have live operator set up on the site for anyone with questions about products and/or techniques. So please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. You can also visit my contact page to reach me.

I want to thank family and friends for their continued support while I built this site. But a special thanks goes out to my Mother, because without her love, and support (& green thumb) none of this could have been possible.

Happy Growing!

How To Plant Seeds Using Hydroponics

[Translate]

Planting seeds is very popular this time of year, so let’s discuss how to do it using hydroponics.

planting seeds 284x300 How To Plant Seeds Using Hydroponics

For this explanation we’re going to use rockwool cubes. Other options would be to use composted root plugs or even just a soiless mixture of 50% perlite and 50% vermiculite.

These products can be purchased separately or as a complete system.

Supplies

seeds 1gal favorite nutrient mix 1″rock wool cubes cloning tray dome for tray heating mat thermostat florescent light (optional)

Step by Step

Step 1) Choose your seeds.

Step2) Pre-soak your rock wool cubes or soiless mix.

Step 3) Use a toothpick to poke a small hole into the top of the rock wool or mix.

Step 4) Put seed into small hole.

Step 5) Place rock wool cube into tray and tray onto the heating mat.

Step 6) Cover seed tray with clear dome.

Step 7) Place small amount of water in tray to help keep humidity up.

Step 8) Set thermostat to correct temperature. (usually 79F to 81F)

Step 9) Remove dome when seeds begin to germinate.

After your seeds germinate, you can then decide if you’re going to use some lights, the sun or a combination of both to grow your plants.

Seeds can be found at our online store or at your local garden store. You can also try Wal-Mart or Home Depot. However if you’re interested in some high quality non-hybrid seeds, then I’d recommend Heirloom Organics.

Using the sun in combination with hydroponics is a great way to grow fruits and vegetables. Once you’re familiar with the process, I’m sure you’ll be amazed with the results.
